Three-Season Porch
Some unexpected structural repairs were necessary before we could convert this old deck into an affordable, three-season porch we designed for this Wallingford, CT home.
The Issues (before pics)
Our client's old kitchen badly needed updating. They had minimal counter space, and relied on a small table for dining. The kitchen was also closed off to the rest of the house with just a 28 in. entry.

The Solutions (after pics)
We redesigned the space by opening up the wall between the kitchen and the rest of the home, added a horseshoe-shaped work area that tripled the counter space and included a peninsula with bar seating. We replaced the existing windows and added a window at the kitchen sink to increase natural light. The old tile floor was replaced with hardwood, while new cabinets, granite countertops, tile backsplash and accent lighting modernized the feel. We also improved the environment by venting the range fan outdoors, and increased the heat supply to the room.
